One such anime is Stars Align that revolves around the game known as soft Tennis. The series came with a typical sports storyline, but its characters managed to stand out and made this show better than the others of the same genre. Stars Align, also known as Hoshiai no Sora, is a Japanese sports drama original anime TV series. Kazuki Akane helmed this show, whereas Eight Bit animation studio animated its first season. Its twelve-episode debut installment came out on October 11, 2019. The viewers saw its season finale on December 27 of the same year. Earlier this year in May, a special fan movie was also released that is set to two years after the events of the anime series. 

Stars Align Season 2: Renewal Status

The first season Hoshiai no Sora, was one of the best anime series of the year 2019. It got a tremendous reception from the critics as well as from the viewers. At the time of writing, the show holds a score of 7.57 on MyAnimeList. Not only the reception but the popularity of the anime is pretty great as well. It has more than 147K members in its MAL group and is ranked at #1170 in popularity. These numbers are enough to convince the makers to renew the anime for Stars Align Season 2. The fans are continuously demanding and even sent a lot of messages to the people who are related to its production. However, none of them reverted except for the director of the series. The show is yet to receive a green signal, but if everything goes well, it will get it very soon. 

Director Kazuki Akane On Hoshiai no Sora Season 2

The Director of Stars Align posted a tweet to address the questions of the overseas fans of this sports drama. Initially, the show was planned to run for a total of 24 episodes. However, its thirteenth episode got scrapped, and Akane stated that now they don’t have any plan to produce more episodes. In his recent tweet, he changed his statement and said he is sorry to inform the fans that he hasn’t found any production company or anyone who is willing to fund Stars Align Season 2. Moreover, he is still preparing to make 13-24 episodes. So, if the director, Kazuki Akane, will renew the series as soon as he gets any other production studio for the sequel of this sports drama.

Stars Align Season 2: Release Date 

The second season of Hoshiai no Sora might still take some time to come out. Firstly, the director will find a studio then begin to work on its pre-production. So, if in near future, Akane finds a new production company and renews the show, then the fans can expect Stars Align Season 2 to release sometime in 2023.
