The light novel series is Fuse’s work with Mitz Vah for the illustrations. While for the manga, Taiki Kawakami is the artist. The team has been working on the manga since May 2014. Now, with the manga finally entering its final arc, fans were expecting an end to their favorite series. And the author has confirmed this bad news. Fuse says he will end the isekai manga after three more volumes on November 30, 2021.
However, Fuse previously has also stated that he is likely to write spin-offs once the series reaches an end. So, fans are in for some new content when the series is complete. The series has huge popularity, with almost 400 million views to date. Fans have loved both the comic book and the anime adaption.
What Has Happened Till Now?
The series focuses on 37-year-old Satoru Mikami, leading a boring life with no girlfriend. One day while on a day at work, he gets stabbed and dies. During his final moments, Satoru hears a strange voice that he can hardly make anything out of. However, then he lands himself in a new world as a slime monster. He takes up the title of a leader, and the nation becomes extremely strong. Now, other nations have eyes on them to either join hands or ruin it. Newly named Rimuru now aspires to change his life forever.
In the last episode of the second cour of the sequel, Clayman plans to kill Rimuru for the title. However, gets eaten instead. Meanwhile, Roy Valentine turns out to be the true Demon Lord Luminous Valentine. Karion and Fey have now quit their seats as Demon Lords and begin to work for Milim. With there only being eight members, Rimuru calls them the Eight Star Demons Lords – Octagram. Lastly, Laplace learns of Clayman’s death and rips out Roy’s heart when he mocks him.

The 18th volume of the series was released on March 31, 2021, and entered its final arc. In addition, the 19th volume was published on November 30, 2021. The series will end soon after three more volumes. The anime series has had two seasons till now, and no news on renewal has come out yet. Both the series are streaming on Crunchyroll and Funimation, and English translations are also available. Fans will see a film based on the series during the Fall of 2022.
