In the sixteenth episode of Shiroi Suna no Aquatope, the viewers saw Chiku, Marina, and Fuka examining a penguin egg. Doctor Takeshita visited them, but he got a hostile response from Chiyu. The girls got the task of overseeing the last days of the penguin’s egg cycle, but Chiyu refused to stay overnight. During the night, Chiyu rushed to the nursery to pick up her own son. He fell ill, and hence Chiya had to take a day off the next day. However, Chiyu somehow managed to come for work, but then she came to know that Kukuru covered for her.
The latter told her that she really felt bad for harshly treating her without even knowing about her situation. Chiyu revealed to them how she got married right after graduation and managed to find a job at the aquarium. However, her priorities as a mother forced her to take several days off, which resulted in her termination.
