On top of that, the new country will bring newer enemies for him. It will be interesting to see how things turn for him as the story enters the new cour.

The Case Study of Vanitas: Ending Explained

The finale episode of the first cour of The Case Study of Vanitas was a serious cliffhanger. It featured Ruthven and Noe discussing the natures of humans and vampires. Noe, who had substantial thoughts about both the races, revealed that he does not think all vampires are evil. Moreover, he said to his professor that both humans and vampires have equal capacities to be good and evil. Even vampires can control their urges and use their powers for the good of society. And even humans can be as lethal as vampires.

However, the professor disapproved of this thought. The vampire was a firm believer that humans should not be compared to the superior race. The professor found this argument as a good opportunity to infiltrate Noe with the vampire blood. Thus, he turned Noe into a vampire by biting his neck. Besides, he makes the new vampire his sworn slave. It is evident that Ruthven plans to use Noe against Vanitas in the future. In The Case Study of Vanitas episode 12, fans see Noe’s pov where he wakes up in his own bed with no memory of the past events.

The only thing that Noe could recount was that he was craving Vanitas blood. Without thinking too much about this urge, he got back to work. Luca visited Vanitas to asks for his book. Luca mentioned that he wanted to treat someone using that book. However, Vanitas denied the request. Thus, Luca tried to get the book by force. Jeanne and Vanitas defeated him in small combat. By the end of the episode, Ruthven sends Neo to Vanitas to kill him. Upon a single sight, Vanitas realized that Noe had been infiltrated. But, Vanitas easily captured Noe and chained him in his cell.

What to Expect Next?

The end of the finale season implied that Vanitas will keep Noe’s case on a halt for now. This is because a new case has come his way. The situation in Gevaudan was serious, and Vanitas had to reach there immediately. Thus, he neutralized Noe for the time being and took himself to the quest. Meanwhile, Jeanne will stay back home as her blood urges are getting stronger by the day. Moreover, Vanitas cannot handle two vampires at once if both of them go rogue.

In the upcoming season, fans can expect to see the Gevaudan arc of the story. The news of Beast citings in the countryside has struck bells for Vanitas. Thus, he will get to the new country immediately. Trouble is a latter concern because he is already taking Noe with him. Meanwhile, Lord Ruthven will continue to spread his evil plans back home.
