The previous episode ended with Vanitas finally getting his book back. However, the episode stopped before showing if he was successful or not. The next episode of the series will show if Vanitas will reach his end goal. The first part of the plan was to get Chloe a physical form, and he succeeded in that. The second is to free her from the curse. As part of his plan already worked, Vanitas might save Chloe. The sixth episode opened with Jeanne and Vanitas. Jeanne is torn between her love for Chloe and her duty as a Bourreau. She remembers that if she defies her Lord, someone close to her will suffer. However, Vanitas assures her that he will not let it happen. Convinced, she asks him to help Chloe. Inside the castle, Vanitas begins searching for his book. Dante and Johann come to the castle and end up helping Vanitas. He uses the alternate engine to bring back Chloe. However, an enraged Astolfo enters the scene and hurts Jean-Jaques.
When he was young, Astolfo and his sister helped an injured vampire boy. However, he betrays Astolfo and kills all of his family. Thus, Astolfo has a hatred against all vampires. Jean Jacques finally understands that Chloe never intended to live after turning on the engine. He goes to her and pleads her not to leave him. The episode ends with him opening the pages to reverse the curse.
