True Cooking Master Boy, also known as Shin Chuuka Ichiban in Japanese, is a cooking comedy anime series. It is the remake of Etsushi Ogawa’s manga series of the very title. NAS and Production IG jointly animated this anime. The show made its debut on October 12, 2019. Its second season premiered this year on January 11, 2021. It also ran for twelve episodes just like its first season and ended on March 30, 2021.
Shin Chuuka Ichiban Season Season’s Review!
The second season of the anime was also pretty much like its first season. It’s almost the same as its inaugural run, and the only major difference was its storyline of Legendary Utensils. The underworld cooking society arc was pretty decent, and the viewers enjoyed the battle between the protagonists and the chefs of the underworld. Shin Chuuka Ichiban’s cooking scenes were also good but certainly not good as Food Wars.
The sequel started a little slow, but it becomes enjoyable after the initial episodes. There was a little depth in the characters, but their development could have been better. Along with all the True Cooking Master Boy Season 2 animation and OSTs were also good. Overall, it was an enjoyable show, especially for fans who like the cooking genre.

Shin Chuuka Ichiban is a good cooking anime show, but it is not anywhere near the popularity of the shows like Shokugeki. The second season also received a mixed and positive response from everyone, just like the first one. It has an average score of 6.64 on MyAnimeList. However, there weren’t even a total of 1000 members in its group. It is clearly showing the popularity of the show has been decreased.
Plus, the production studio already exhausted most of the content from the manga. Currently, they don’t have enough source material to produce True Cooking Master Boy Season 3. The good thing is the manga is still on the run. So, they’ll eventually get it. But the main concern is the viewership and popularity. Therefore, the chances for the next season to happen are very low.

The makers won’t wave the green flag until they get enough source material for the third season. So, even if the third installment is on the cards, it will take at least two or three years to arrive.
