Another series that gets a hit on release date due to the Coronavirus pandemic is the much-awaited Uzumaki anime. While the show was originally set to release in 2020, the emergency led to a delay to summer 2021. Now, the makers are out with yet another delay. The anime project was initially a work of Warner Bros. TV Studios that collaborates with Studio Drive to finish the job. The four-episode mini-series will air on Adult Swim’s Toonami this year.
Uzumaki manga is a popular Japanese Seinen from the late 90s. The manga is one of the pioneers of horror mangas in Japan. Hence, a lot of fans were waiting for its anime adaptation. So, when is Uzumaki anime coming out? Here is everything to know about the delay.
Uzumaki Anime: Plot Details & New Apology Teaser
The horror manga Uzumaki follows the mystery behind the Japanese town Kurouzu-Cho. High school students Kirie Goshima and Shuichi Saito are the centers of the story. They set out to find the truth behind the strange occurrences in their town. The various murders and disappearances always leave behind a spiral. So, Kirie and Shuinchi must look for the creature who is killing the innocents of their town.
To compensate for the delay, the makers of the Uzumaki anime series shared a new teaser clip with the fans. The video starts with an apology message from the show’s director Hiroshi Nagahama. Hiroshi can be seen telling the reasons behind the delay. Besides, he also reveals a sneak peek from the first episode of Uzumaki. The trailer looks brilliant in all forms. Moreover, the readers of the original Uzumaki manga are happy with Production IG’s work. Both the character design and screenwriting look promising.
Cast And Crew Details!
The showmakers had earlier revealed the names of its team members before the 2020 release. For the lead roles of Kirie and Shuinchi, we can expect to see Uki Satake and Shinichiro Miki. Toshio Furukawa will be playing Kirie’s Father. As for Shuichi’s Father, Takashi Matsuyama is playing the part. Moreover, Mika Doi will be playing Yukie Saito in the Uzumaki anime series. Along with her, Mariya Ise will be seen as Azami Kurotami. Lastly, other casting names include Wataru Hatano as Okada, and Tatsumaru Tachibana as Tsumura.
Hiroshi Nagahama will be the director of this show. Moreover, Colin Stetson will be the music composer of the show. The animation will be the work of Studio Drive. Lastly, Production IG USA and Adult Swim are producing the horror anime.
Uzumaki Anime: New Release Date
After two delays, anime Uzumaki is ready to release in Japan in October 2021. We will update this section as soon as a solid release date is out.
