Previously in Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 3, Olmar attended the late-night drinking session with the bodyguards’ Badger and Fox. But he later realized that it wasn’t his cup of tea. Fox suggested that Olmar could increase his confidence by killing someone, which might reduce his fears. He later told Olmar to kill farm enslaved people. The following morning Thorfinn woke up to a terrifying nightmare. But he didn’t remember much about it. At the well, Elinar met Arnheid, who was revealed to be Ketil’s attendant.
Soon Fox and Badger arrived and captured Elinar and Thorfinn. The bodyguards later took them to the bodyguard’s compound. There they invited Olmar to kill unarmed Elinar. But Elinar tried his best to get free, and in desperation and anger, he pinned Olmar down and told Thorfinn to run. While they struggled to escape, Thorfinn offered himself as a sacrifice. Fox believed death had no value without fear, so he repeatedly slashed Thorfinn with his sword to frighten him. But Thorfinn didn’t even flinch.
