BTS has joined hands with Webtoon, an online comic platform, and is currently publishing content on its site. The band was very generous with their new launch as a teaser has also surfaced. Manhwa is a Korean comic that has been dominating the webcomic industry for years now. One such name is Solo Leveling which is reportedly getting an anime series. These web prints are globally popular, and the addition of the world-famous band BTS just adds to its crazy popularity. At the time of writing, the manhwa has more than 7.6 million reads.
BTS Manhwa Series: Official Announcement!
The news broke out last year in August when Naver, the owner of Webtoon, announced a collaboration with HYBE, the entertainment company behind BTS. The fans were eagerly waiting for more news which came out further in December 2021. The series is titled as 7Fates: Chakho. It is being translated into ten different languages, including English. That is not all, as the Line Digital Frontier is also running two other web novels focusing on two different K-pop bands.
Back in December 2021, Webtoon launched a short teaser of the BTS members entering the world of Manhwa in an exceptionally creative style. On December 24, an episode with BTS member Jin being the main focus was released. The chapter begins with a black cat and Jin walking in a corridor. He then enters a loop and disappears. Similarly, episodes with the rest of the band members were released daily till December 31, 2021.
A short teaser video also made its way to the fans recently this January. The clip is a short one with a 7Fates original soundtrack playing in the background. The song features Jungkook’s vocals, whereas Suga produces it. Undeniably, the band is putting a lot of effort into the web novel launch. Fans argue that the credit for the thought behind the story of the manhwa goes to the K-pop band itself.
The Web Novel Is Based On An Urban Fantasy!
The manhwa comes with an action-packed synopsis. 7Fates is an original concept suggested by the K-pop band. The plot features the Korean urban fantasy of a hunting unit called chakhogaspa of the Joseon Dynasty hence, the addition to the title, “Chakho.” The group of 7 join hands and undergo adventures in the city, Sin-si. The Korean folklore also has tigers in its tale which can cause a huge problem and is guarded by a man.
It is revealed in the first episode of the web novel that the seal that separates the city and the tiger is opened by a certain member of the band. Now, the unleashed tiger is causing destruction all over the city. The manhwa also sets a deep backstory for each member. It will be exciting to see how the characters develop and save the city. However, a much more thorough storyline is being constructed. As the chapters progress, many revelations will shock the readers. Thus, it is clear that the BTS manhwa is not one to miss.

The first seven episodes of the manhwa is already up on the comic website. The chapter was published on January 14, 2022. While for the rest of the story is only available via the app. The feature of the purchase of coins on the Webtoon app will also unlock 9 more episodes of 7Fates.
