Ranking of Kings has quickly become the best anime of the year. The innocent lead character Bojji has also won the best boy in the recent Anime Awards. The anime has shown great growth in Bojji. After training under Despa, he has unleashed his potential and became more confident. However, his happiness was short-lived. The mysterious Miranjo has imprisoned King Bosse.

She sought out the help of some criminals to destroy the Bosse Kingdom. So, who is Miranjo? Why does she want to destroy it? What are her motives? Keep reading to know more about the mysterious villain.

Who Is Miranjo?

Miranjo was initially introduced as a mysterious figure in the mirror. The mirror was a gift from King Bosse to his second son, King Daida. The lady in the mirror soon became a trusted advisor to Daida. She guided him and provided him with answers. As of now, she is the main antagonist of the series. She has a mysterious connection with King Bosse.

This is evident when he hesitates to help Queen Hilling due to his word to Miranjo. As the anime progressed, hints about her past started coming out. In Episode 11, fans finally saw how Miranjo was treated as a young girl. A more detailed backstory about her life was revealed in episode 18.

What Happened To Her?

In episode 11, Daida observes a group of villagers mock a young Miranjo and call her a monster. He quickly understands that she is innocent and goes to help her. However, he gets shocked after looking at her face. The villagers then laugh, saying that they disfigured her. Daida then asks Miranjo to stay with him so he can protect her. This story ties in with the story that Bosse tells Bebin in Episode 18.

Miranjo was a kind and innocent girl. She took after her mother, who was very helpful to everyone around her. Bosse kills her father, but her mother shows kindness and heals him. As a result, Bosse chooses to remain with them and watch her grow. They both belonged to the Houmas Kingdom, famous for having powerful mages. During the war against the gods, the people allied with the neighboring Gyakuza.

The Gyakuza people were very selfish and often took advantage of the kindness of the family. They eventually betray the Houmas kingdom and kill Miranjo’s mother.

How Is Miranjo Connected To The Demon?

After the betrayal of the Gyakuza, Miranjo was never the same person. She realized that being kind would not always work for her. According to the second opening of the Anime, Miranjo befriends a young demon. The Demon may have found the vulnerable Miranjo and supported her. Another scene from the opening shows a grown-up Miranjo in the shadow of the Demon. This hints that Miranjo was the one who led Bosse to make a deal with the Demon. The Demon is also the reason Miranjo is in the mirror. After Miranjo dies in the battlefield, the Demon could have saved her by trapping her in the mirror.

Why Does She Want To Destroy Bosse Kingdom?

Bosse met with the Demon and asked it to make him stronger. The same Demon also comes out of Bosse when he dies. So, Miranjo is the one who introduced the two. She adores Bosse and wants to lead a simple life with him. She feels that being a king would tie him to responsibilities and separate them. So, she wants to destroy the Bosse Kingdom to return to a simple lifestyle. Bosse is the only one she can trust in her life. The two are very close and have gone on great adventures. She wants to be carefree and happy with him. The character has tried to defeat the kingdom before. However, the giant queen Sheena stops her and dies saving the kingdom.

Based on the last episode, it is possible that Miranjo might let go of her evil plan. After receiving kindness from Daida and witnessing the same in Bojji, she might reconsider. If the two brothers convince her, she might leave them in peace and go away. For more interesting content like this, stay tuned to Anime Daily.
