The fans have very high hopes for the World Witches anime series, especially after the release of Strike Witches: Road to Berlin. World Witches, also known as World Witches Hasshin Shimasu, is a Japanese original military comedy anime series. It came under the Strike Witches franchise that has several media projects. Acca Effe and Giga’s production jointly animated the debut installment of this show. Its very first episode premiered on January 13, 2021, and ran for twelve episodes before concluding on March 31, 2021.
Hasshin Shimasu Anime Review
The first season of this show turned out to be pretty average. The franchise delivered some back-to-back hit shows. Therefore, the fans were expecting a lot from this one as well. However, in the end, they got disappointed as it didn’t meet their expectations. World Witches is directly linked to a previous series titled Strike Witches: 501 Butai Hasshin Shimasu! The latter was pretty decent, and the former one has nothing special in it.
It was all about cute girls doing cute things with a little bit of comedy that helped the show moving along. The story was quite bland, and there was no character development as well. Along with all that, the animation quality of Hasshin Shimasu was also pretty down compared to the other shows of the same franchise. Overall, the show has nothing special but it not that worse too.
World Witches Season 2: Renewal Status!
The debut installment has received a mixed or a negative response from everyone. Some viewers did like the show, but it completely failed to impress the critics. On MAL, it has a poor score of 6.29. So, it is clear that the reviews and ratings are not in favor of the sequel. Plus, the show is not that popular as well, nor have any source material to promote. It doesn’t even have 1.5K members on MyAnimeList. Therefore, now it is very unlikely that the producers would invest in World Witches Season 2. It will be very difficult for this show to get the green light from its makers.
World Witches Season 2: Release Date
As we stated above, the possibility for this show to get a second season is very less. But, by any miracle, the creators decide to give it another shot, then it will likely take at least two years to return. So, once the green light comes, fans can expect World Witches Season 2 to release sometime in 2023.
