Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon, also known as Hanyou no Yashahime: Sengoku Otogizoushi, is a Japanese adventure fantasy anime series. It is a sequel to the 2000’s blockbuster anime titled ‘Inuyasha.” Sunrise animation studio animated the first season and is now working on its sequel as well. The sequel made its debut on October 3, 2020, and ran for 24 episodes before ending on March 20, 2021.

Yashahime serves as a direct sequel to Inuyasha. As a result, it follows the story of Inuyasha’s half-brother Sesshomaru’s twin daughters. He got separated from them while they were young. Towa and Setsuna once got caught in a forest fire during the Sengoku period. It made Towa traveling to the modern era, but Setsuna stayed behind. Later, Setsuna became a member of the demon slayer’s clan. The twins met each other once again when the portal connecting Japan’s modern era and Sengoku era opened.
However, Setsuna has no memories as all her memories were stolen by the Dream Butterfly. But Towa recognized her twin sister right after seeing her. Later, Moroha, the daughter of Kagome and Inuyasha, joined the twins. All three of them went on a journey to recollect Stesuna’s memories. They will continue their journey to recover her memory in Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon Season 2. The trio already received some parts of Setsuna’s memory, but there are still a lot of things and hurdles they have to face before Setsuna remembers everything.

On April 26, 2021, the production company revealed that the sequel of the anime titled The Second Act would release this very year. Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon Season 2 is all set to premiere in Fall 2021. The creators are yet to reveal its exact release, but it will likely come out too in the upcoming weeks.
