Bakumatsu Crisis, also known as Renai Bakamatsu Kareshi in Japanese, is a historical action anime series. It is an adaptation of otome game of the same name by FuRyu. Studio Deen animated the first season of the series. The anime made its debut on April 5, 2019. It ran for a total of twelve episodes before ending on June 21 of the same year.
Bakumatsu Crisis Season 2: Renewal Status!
As previously mentioned, the first season of this anime wasn’t really successful. It failed to get a positive response from the critics. The experts quickly pointed out its flaws, and there were a lot of them. As a result, it has a poor score of only 5.70 on MyAnimeList. The show is not that popular as well and only has more than 10K members in it. These numbers won’t be convincing enough for the makers to renew the series for Bakumatsu Crisis Season 2.
Also, the main purpose of this anime was to promote the otome game. It fulfilled its job in the first season. Plus, the debut installment’s finale ended on a conclusive note, hinting that the show might not return for another season. Therefore, now it is very unlikely for the Studio Deen to renew the show for another installment. However, there is a slight chance that the makers will reboot this show in the near future.

Bakumatsu is the name of an era in which the souls of youngsters are burning with anxiety for the future of their country. One day two soldiers named Takasugi and Katsura sneaked into the government’s ship in order to find the mysterious “timepiece.” It has the power to manipulate time, and they’re afraid that the government is keeping this timepiece for themselves. They were planning to destroy this artifact, but before they can reach it was stolen by someone else.
The mysterious thief used the artifact to overthrow the government. But now, their mission has become even more difficult. This is because they need to reset time and save their country from the evil forces trying to hijack it.
Bakumatsu Crisis Season 2: Release Date
As we mentioned above, the chances are for the second season’s renewal are pretty minimal.
