Maesetsu is a Japanese original slice-of-life comedy anime series. Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ jointly animated the first season of the series directed by Yuu Nobata. The premiere episode of the anime aired on October 12, 2020. Whereas, the inaugural installment consists of twelve episodes. The viewers saw its season finale on December 27 of the same year. As of now, everyone is waiting for the renewal of Maesetsu Season 2.

On the first look, this one seems to be just another typical anime series full of cute girls doing cute things. However, the Maesetsu anime also focused on stand-up comedy or, to be more precise, Owarai. It means performing in front of a live audience but as a duo. The anime focuses on two duos, which means there are four main characters in it. Well, they are quite ambitious, and the plot is all about their struggles and how they become better with time.
The first few episodes of Maesetsu were quite entertaining, but after that, it became quite bland. This show is all about jokes, but later the jokes were not convincing enough, and they’re not funny as well. The story of the characters is a little bit inspiring. Overall, the anime is certainly not a masterpiece, but if some things were better, then it could have been one.
Maesetsu Season 2: Renewal Status
The first of this comedy anime got a mixed response from the viewers. The critics also managed to find out a lot of flaws in it. Besides, its reviews were also poor, just like its score of 5.77 on MyAnimeList. On top of that, the show is not even that popular as it doesn’t have a total of 10K members in its MAL group. It is an original anime series that don’t have any source material to promote. Plus, the first season of the series ended on a decisive note.
So, nothing seems to be in favor of Maesetsu Season 2. The fans shouldn’t raise their hopes very high as the chances for this show to return are very less.

If the production company decides to give another shot to this comedy anime, then the show might return in two years.
