Production Updates
With announcements coming one after the other, the working schedules of anime studios are stretching to unrealistic hours. Fortunately, WIT has some good time on its hands to work on Ousama Ranking Season 2. As for 2022, the company only has Spy X Family Anime and Onipan! Anime (announced so far) on its plate. Unlike MAPPA and CloverWorks which are animating numerous shows this year, WIT might be able to give time to Ranking Of Kings.
As of the last update, there was no leak or announcement about the animation company working on the second season. Such an announcement would make it to the news corner within a month of the conclusion.
Is There Enough Source Material?
It was quite a surprise that Ousama Ranking was a project picked up by an animation company as big as WIT. All anime works have some kind of readership in the west. But Ranking of Kins was an unconventional choice. As of March 2022, the ongoing manga has serialized twelve volumes so far. This accounts for a total of 196 chapters in the manga. Out of this, the final episode of the first season ended with the 154th.
This only leaves 42 chapters for the second season. Thus, for the story to get a sequel, the makers will have to wait for a long time until more content is covered in the meantime. Thus, this would only delay the production process for the next 23 episodes of Season 2.

Season 2 Plot Details
The manga finishes the first part of the story in Chapter 155. And this is where the first season also ends. Now, Ousama Ranking Season 2 will pick up from the 156th chapter. The translations of the manga are not easily available in the west. Thus, giving away the entire plot from the manga would be difficult. But some of the major events that are going to take place from the manga include Bojji’s journey into becoming the King.
Yes, the young Prince would surely become King in the next season. Right where the first season leaves off the plot, Miranjo is now in the other world where the demon is ready to serve her with all the grief and pain in the world. But as Bojji had promised, he would follow her to the other realm and save her from the wrath of the demon. Afterward, Miranjo would end up marrying Daida after she gets a complete body in the human world. It would also be revealed that Miranjo was the one who killed Bojji’s mother in the first place.

She was always insecure with Bosse dividing his love between the two women. Thus, she ended up staging her death in the chaos of the siege. Ousama Ranking Season 2 will also feature the entire journey of Bojji becoming the King.
Ousama Ranking Season 2: Release Date
As of now, there is no renewal announcement, let alone the release date for Ousama Ranking Season 2. Since there is not enough source material for a second season, there might not be a season until 2023. Only after this year has passed, would there be plenty of content to build another story.
