After a lot of tease over the past few years, it seems like the fans will finally see Vinland Saga Season 2 this year. Fans have been waiting for the anime’s second season for the past two years. Vinland Saga, aka Vinrando Saga, is a Japanese historical adventure anime series. The show follows a critically acclaimed manga series of the same name by Makoto Yukimura. Wit Studio, known for the production of the first three seasons of Attack on Titan, also worked on the Vinrando Saga anime. The popular series debuted back in July 2019 and ran for a total of 24 episodes until its conclusion in December 2019.
Vinland Saga Season 2: Renewal Status!
The director of the anime series has been teasing its sequel since September 2020. He posted some drawings. Below that, there was also a text that reads, “Thorfinn “How long must we wait?” Askeladd “That’s why I hate kids…” Canute “It’s soon…, I guess…” Later in October, he went to MAPPA to help them with AOT’s final season. However, at that time, he stated that he has his own directing title.
Recently, on March 19, 2021, the show’s character designer tweeted, “there is another work that I have to do the most. My most important work, you know. I plow fields again today.” He is also using the visual of Vinland Saga Season 2 farmland arc. It broke the internet, and now the fans are almost certain that they will see the sequel. However, the makers are yet to announce it officially.

In the debut season of the series, fans saw King Sweyn has been slaughtered, and Prince Canute killed Askeladd and took control over the army. Thorfinn lashed out at the Prince for revenge, and thus, his sense of hope was taken away. Now in Vinland Saga Season 2, Thorfinn can concentrate on his living. On the other hand, King Canute of both Denmark and England wants to build a heaven for the Vikings, and he won’t stop killing anyone who gets in his way. So, it is likely that Thorfinn will finish his business with Canute after his treachery in the second season.
Vinland Saga Season 2: Release Date
It seems like Wit Studio has already begun the production for the second season of Vinrando Saga but is yet to reveal that to the audience. It is likely that they’ll confirm it soon by releasing a trailer. Currently, Vinland Saga Season 2 is expected to release in Winter 2022. Therefore, fans can expect its premiere episode anytime between January and March 2022.
