Soon after watching the first season of I Am Quitting Heroing, fans started clamoring for I Am Quitting Heroing Season 2. But will this storyline continue? Perhaps it could be. Inspired by Quantum’s Japanese fantasy light novel of the same name. The light novel started serializing online in January 2017 on Kadokawa. It continued till February 2017. Later, Fujimi Shobo republished the three volumes of the novel from December 2017 to October 2018. The light novel was published under the Kadokawa Books imprint. Nori Kazato then serialized the manga series via Kadokawa Shoten’s Young Ace up since May 2018, reaching six volumes. Later EMT Squared got the license of the anime series that aired in April 2022.
I Am Quitting Heroing Season 2: Is It Renewed Yet?
As of now, EMT Squared, the studio behind the anime television series, hasn’t yet renewed I Am Quitting Heroing for the second run. Before the first season could conclude on June 21, 2022, the EMT Squared announced a two-par OVA which had released on June 24 and August 24, 2022. So based on the finale, the studio would decide the fate of the series. But we hope that I Am Quitting Heroing Season 2 will return.
Is It Coming Back?
Unfortunately, EMT Squared has yet to announce the future of the show. But the series has gained massive popularity throughout its first season. The incredible storyline continued to enchant the audience and dragged their attention. I Am Quitting Heroing received positive responses from the series fans as well as the critics. It gained 7.1/10 positive responses on MyAnimeList and 6.9/10 on IMDb. Further, its viewership continued to grow throughout the first season. Thus it seems like the show would return for I Am Quitting Heroing Season 2. Although the first season ended on a pleasant note, it still left some loose ends to explore in I Am Quitting Heroing Season 2. Thus chances for the second season are quite high.
Is There Enough Source Material Left To Explore?
Fortunately, yes! Yuusha Yamemasu’s light novel series started self-publishing on Kadokawa’s Kakuyumu in 2017 and inspired the anime television series. It consists of six manga volumes, and it’s still counting. The anime adaptation has merely covered a fraction of the manga series, and plenty of contexts remain to explore. So deeming this, we can expect that I Am Quitting Heroinng could explore at least two or more installments. Hence, the chances of I Am Quitting Heroing Season 2 getting renewed are pretty high.
I Am Quitting Heroing Season 2: What Will Happen Next?
In the first season finale, Leo appeared on the verge of dying. So he allowed Echidna to remove his philosopher’s stone within 300 seconds. Echidna asked him whether he had any regrets, and he barely apologized for the trouble he created. Instead of removing the stone, she announced that she had hired Leo as her ambassador to create peace between demons and humans. When he continued to die, Shutina asked about his real motive. He revealed that his creator programmed him to destroy humanity, but he evolved beyond his creator’s orders. So Shutina asked him to ignore the programming, and he finally succeeded in deleting the order to protect humanity and later sealed the stone inside him.
Well, Leo has successfully sealed the stone inside him. But the Philosopher’s Stone will create problems in his life. It will be difficult for him to deal with the stone’s powers, and it will continue to mess with his internal function. Further, Echidna wants that stone to help rebuild her home. Demon World appeared extremely polluted, and he wanted to turn it into a fertile land that could only take place with the help of the stone. But now that it’s inside Leo, it will be challenging for them to revive Demon World.
Now that Leo has become a part of the Demon King’s army, he will likely visit Demon World. He has vowed to help Demon Queen Echidna to rebuild her army and will continue to recruit powerful demons into her forces. But before that, he will explore a dungeon and find some precious stones. It could help him to find the most powerful demons. Later he will have a faceoff with the dragon, and after defeating him, he will recruit it into Echidna’s forces. He will also restore the relationship with humans. Maze-maker Canaan will also play a part in I Am Quitting Heroing Season 2. Leo will reunite with DH-06 Virgo and learn more about the 2060 war.

I Am Quitting Heroing Season 2: Release Date
As mentioned earlier, EMT Squared has yet to renew I Am Quitting Heroing Season 2. However, deeming its popularity, we can expect that soon the studio will return with the second season. Further, the first season was announced back in October 2021, and it took almost five months to wrap up production.
