Previously in the first season finale, Mami learned about Mizuhara’s work. She learned that Mizuhara was a rental girlfriend and had feelings for Kazuya. So she pushed Mami to open up her heart. As for Kazuya, he was following them and started avoiding Ruka, who he was about to officially date. However, in the end, he finally confessed his true feelings to Mizuhara.
Later he spotted Mami and Chizuru together. She was aware of Chizuru’s job. However, they appeared slightly confused while Chizuru wondered why Mami was working as the rental girlfriend.
