The Case Study of Vanitas Part 2 Episode 5: Plot Details!
The Case Study of Vanitas Part 2 Episode 5, titled ‘Hands Upon a Nightmare,’ will address the cliffhanger from the previous episode. The major plot twist of the whole episode was that Chloe never intended to go along with Naenia. She understood that she had to trick the entity like it tricked her and Jean-Jacques. So she was waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike at it. Episode 5 will show if her plan was successful and if she finally put an end to the spirit.
On the other hand, Vanitas has still not found his book. He needs to find it and help cure Chloe of the curse. If he does not do that, Jeanne or someone else will come for Chloe and hurt her. Noe will clash once more with Astolfo, who is on his way to kill Chloe. Noe promised Vanitas that he would stop Astolfo from reaching Chloe or Jean Jacques. In addition, Vanitas will somehow convince Jeanne and make her learn the truth about her friend. So, the next episode might tease an emotional reunion between the two friends.
What Happened In The Previous Episode?
Episode 4 of the popular anime opened with Vanitas realizing that the curse had trapped them in a time loop and that they did not travel back in time. Jeanne figures it could be because of Chloe, so she sets out to the castle to fight her. However, Vanitas tags along with her to stop her and help cure the curse. Inside the castle, Noe feels dizzy and unconscious; and realizes the butler spiked his food. Jean-Jacques then forces Noe to drink his blood so he will learn the actual truth about him and Chloe.
Through his memories, Noe learns that Jean-Jacques grew up with a drunk, abusive father. His father abused him as he was a vampire. This made him run away to the woods. He meets Chloe in the woods and forms a friendship with her. In his village, Jean-Jacques overhears angry villagers blaming Chloe for the deaths in the village. They wrongly assume she is the one who is attacking them all. So, they set out to destroy her. A desperate Jean- Jacques makes a deal with Naenia to become the Beast to protect Chloe.
Noe regains consciousness and escapes from the locked room. He finds Vanitas and explains everything to him. They rush to stop Chloe from using the Alternate Engine but run into Astolfo. Noe then asks Vanitas to help Chloe and that he will take care of Astolfo. When Vanitas reaches Chloe, he asks her for his grimoire. Chloe tells him she does not know and begins talking about her plan to wipe Gevauden off the map. As Vanitas watches in horror, Chloe begins using the engine. However, he is shocked to see Naenia solidifying and gaining form. Chloe reveals that it was all a disguise to trick Naenia and that she can finally hurt the ghost-like entity.
The Case Study of Vanitas Part 2 Episode 5: Release Date!
The next episode in the anime series will be titled ‘Hands Upon a Nightmare’. It will be the fifth episode of the second cour of the anime.
