Written and illustrated by Dai Shiina, the manga serialized in Hakusensha’s shoujo manga magazine Hana to Yume for 25 volumes. In 2014, Studio Pierrot picked up the story for a twelve-episode anime adaptation. The television series received much critical acclaim and love from fans.

The first season of the shoujo anime opened up to positive critical during its first broadcast. It did not do much business internationally, yet it still has a major fan-following.
