Futabasha’s Monthly Action magazine and its website made an announcement recently. The copy revealed that artist Asahi would be starting a new manga based on the franchise. This work will be titled “Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Meguri.” The Higurashi When They Cry Manga will have a colored page. Moreover, it will also feature on the front cover of the magazine. Further, will be a major part of the renewed Higurashi adaptations in the franchise. In November 2021, two new manga arcs were released. This revived interest in the franchise. Some of them are linked to the anime shows from 2020.
What Is The Manga About?
Futabasha announced that this manga is an important missing link in the entire story. This could finally solve the plot of the original one. The tagline says, “The final demon awakens. A new Higurashi towards the truth.” The story is set in the year of 1923. So, it occurs in the Hinamizawa village, just like the rest of the franchise. So far, the only part fans know about the plot is that it will be about the Sonozaki family.
This new family is quite well-known in their village. They are one of the Three Great Families in the lands. The head of the family is Oryo, is also the protagonist. The genre is a murder mystery.
