Surgeon Elise is a mini-manhwa series that has been serialized on Kakaopage since 2017. The slice-of-life series came onto Tappytoons as Doctor Elise, The Royal Lady With The Lamp. So far, seven volumes have come out of this story. And fans eye the animated version on their screens now.

From the synopsis shared by ANN, we know that Surgeon Elise Anime is the story of a surgeon named Aoi Takamoto. But she is not the surgeon from the beginning. We see the reincarnation tale of Elise, who once was an Empress in her previous life. And what comes next is her execution at the hands of her own father. Now in the next life, the lady learns the ways of the world much better. Being around ailing patients and people gives her a sense of empathy.
But once again, she is born as the empress. And now, Aoi wants to atone for the mistakes that she made the last time. Thus, this story of redemption and coming-of-age commences here. It will be interesting to see what the story looks like when animated by the studio.
