According to the official synopsis on the manga’s website, the story of The Deer King Film will take the fans to the magical world of the Empire of Zol. The empire has been conquering nearby territories for many years now. Only the Aquafa territory has been able to protect its lands from this empire. A peace treaty is safeguarding the Fire House Territory of Aquafa. But when the protagonist Van gets bitten by a wolf, he spreads a deadly virus in both lands.
This sparks havoc in both the lands that ultimately lead to war. Amid the border tensions, the people must also protect themselves from the Black Wolf Fever, killing more men than the War itself. The Deer King is only a legend that the people believed in for many years. But now that the entire humanity is in danger, the legend will return to save the people of Zol and Aquafa.

The very first release date that was announced by the makers was that of September 18, 2020. But the pandemic led to the shelving of the project for about a year. A month ago, a release date of September 10, 2021, was confirmed by the makers. For now, the makers have not announced the new release date.
