Rifle Is Beautiful, also known as Chidori RSC, is a Japanese sports comedy anime series. It is an adaptation of Salmiakki’s four-panel manga series of the same title. Studio 3Hz animated the first season of the series that came out on October 13, 2019. The debut installment ran for a total of twelve episodes before reaching its end on January 18, 2020. Since then, its fans are waiting for the target shooting club to open again.
Chidori RSC Manga Compared To The Anime
As previously mentioned, the anime is based on the manga of the same name by Salmiakki. The author began its serialization on April 9, 2015. It concluded on July 2, 2020, after a total of six volumes. Despite that, the anime remained faithful to the manga’s storyline. However, it did make some slight changes to adjust the fast pacing of the show. Throughout the run of twelve episodes, Chidori RSC adopted a total of 4 four volumes. Its season finale ended on the 72nd chapter of the fourth book.
As a result, now the production studio only has two more volumes to produce Rifle Is Beautiful Season 2. It is certainly not enough to produce a full-fledged twelve-episode installment. However, Studio 3Hz can use the remaining volumes to produce a movie or OVAs so that they can provide closure to the anime’s storyline.
Rifle Is Beautiful Season 2: Renewal Status
The inaugural season of this rifle shooting series got average responses from both the viewers and the experts. The latter even pointed out several flaws and loopholes in the series, which affected its ratings as well. At the time of writing, the debut season of Chidori RSC has a poor score of 6.18 on MyAnimeList. The series is not that popular as well and only has 30.5K members in its MAL group. Also, Studio 3Hz only has two volumes left to create the storyline of Rifle Is Beautiful Season 2.
Therefore, if we connect all the dots, the sequel of the series really doesn’t seem to be on the cards. Even if the production studio decides to give it a proper conclusion, they will have to make OVA or movie to close the show.
Rifle Is Beautiful Season 2: Release Date
As we mentioned above, the chances are very less that Studio 3Hz will renew Chidori RSC for another run. However, fans can still hope for a miracle to happen in order to save the anime. Once that happens, Is Beautiful Season 2 might take a while for production and might hit the screens sometime in 2023.
