love of kill season 2

Koroshi Ai, better known as Love Of Kill, is one of the popular anime series that saw a successful run in the Winter to Spring board. However, there was not much chatter about the show as there was about other releases. But the fans who watched this thriller do hope that Love Of Kill Season 2 does come back. So, what are the chances of its comeback? When will the second season release? Here is everything you need to know about the return of the series.

The Spring 2022 slate had many releases at the same time. From Demon Slayer Season 2 to Attack on Titan The Final Season, there were multiple releases that took the anime world by storm. The release of these shows was the sole reason why Love Of Kill could not get as much viewership. However, it did get popular amongst the fans who watched the show.

Love Of Kill Season 2: Renewed Or Canceled?

Koroshi Ai is an original suspense thriller manga by author Fe. The text was first released in the year 2015. As of April 2022, the text has released 12 volumes so far. The series got popular because of its incredible display of the main leads. As of the renewal of the second anime season, Love Of Kill Season 2 has not been renewed by Studio Platinum Vision.

In addition, neither the staff nor the animation team has said anything about the return of the show. Thus, there is no news on whether the show will get a comeback or not. But there is a good chance that the anime might come back. Platinum Vision is a newly-launched animation company. Thus, it does not have a hefty schedule in the initial years. So, bringing back another season might not be a difficult decision for the company.

Will It Ever Come Back?

Love Of Kill Season 2 does have a very bright future for a comeback. The official scores of the anime seem good enough for a return. With 6.9 stars out of 10 on IMDb, the show eyes good reviews. The MyAnimeList score is on a better note with 7.6 stars. Thus, Koroshi Ai attracts many eyeballs. It is undeniable that the show did not get as many views during its original run. Part of the reason is that big banners were stealing away all the limelight during the Winter 2022 slate.

Thus, the credibility of the show cannot be judged on the basis of the views. Good ratings and high demand can always bring back dying projects. And Koroshi Ai already has high demand amongst its close-knit circle of fans.

Is There Enough Source Material?

Love of Kill is based on the manga of the same name by author Fe. The suspense mystery first came out in October 2015. Until now, the manga has been serialized in 12 volumes so far. And the good news is that the story has not concluded as of yet. Thus, there will be more volumes in the future. The first season of 12 episodes, ended up covering only the first 41 chapters of the manga. This leaves more than half of the story to get an adaptation. Love of Kill Season will cover Chapters 42 to 80 of the manga.

Love Of Kill Season 2: What Will Happen In Season 2?

As mentioned above, the finale of the series was abrupt and did not tell the entire story. This only means that there is another season in the make. In the final episode, titled “My Name,” Chateau defied all expectations and hires Son to get Donny assassinated. However, Son puts forth the condition that she will only do the job if Chateau agrees to make her a companion. Towards the end of the season, she said that she does not want money as bait. Instead, she was looking for something more than cash.

This is the point where the second season will pick up. In the following storyline, the anime will first finish the primary arc of the manga. After this, Chateau’s missions will continue to gain traction in Love Of Kill Season 2.

Love Of Kill Season 2: Release Details

Koroshi Ai Season 2 will not be a tough call to make for Studio Platinum Vision. However, considering the lack of views on the first season, the chances of its comeback do fall, but there is still hope. If the anime gets traction in the meantime, there is a chance that the makers might consider renewing it. So, Love Of Kill Season 2 might be released by the mid of 2023 if Platinum Vision renews it this Spring.

If there is any update about the show, we will be sure to share it in this space. Thus, stay in touch with The Anime Daily to get more intel on the same.
