The news broke out through the publishing house of the original manga series. It is revealed in the April issue of Shogakukan’s Monthly Sunday GX that Black Lagoon is coming up with a brand new spinoff series. The upcoming manga will find Eda in the lead who debuts in Chapter 9 of the manga. The character who was dressed in a nun outfit with a CIA background in hand quickly became a fan-favorite. Hence, the hype around the spinoff has been peaking since its announcement.
The title of the manga is called “Eda- Initial Stage,” indicating her primary days in the CIA. Moreover, Manga Mogura’s official Twitter account also gave away the release date of the upcoming series. Plus, Hajime Yamamura and Rei Hiroe are writing the text. It is notable that a few fans questioned the continuation of the main series. The fans have shown their distaste over the mangaka delivering 12 volumes in the span of 19 years.
