Listeners is a Japanese original music mecha anime series. Jin created this show whereas it was directed by Hiroaki Ando. MAPPA, renowned for Attack On Titan Season 4 and Jujutsu Kaisen, animated the first season of this anime. The viewers saw the very first episode of this show on April 4, 2020. It had a short run of twelve episodes, and the fans saw its final episode on June 20 of the same year.

By the look of the title, Listeners seems to be a pretty simple anime. However, the show deep dives into the post-apocalyptic world without music. Most of the storyline of this show was about the protagonists traveling around looking for new things and exploring rock music. The audience felt like the pacing of this show was way too fast. If it was a two-cour anime, the characters would get more room for their development. Listeners art and animation style was really great and appealing.
MAPPA did great work in it, as usual. But the show didn’t have anything extraordinary. It lacked wow factors, and that made it an average show. Overall, the show is good, but it is not for the detail-oriented audience.
Listeners Anime Season 2: Renewal Status!
The show premiered as an original series last year. Earlier, the fans had very high hopes for this show, but it certainly didn’t fulfill it. Plus, the anime doesn’t have anything like the manga or light novel to promote. So, the chances for this show to return are pretty low.

The chances are low, but if by any chance the show gets the green flag this very, its production will take a little longer. In fact, given the busy schedule of MAPPA, it can take at least two or three years. Therefore, Listeners Anime Season 2 might premiere by the end of 2023.
