Magical Girl Ore, also known as Mahou Shoujo Ore in Japanese, is a fantasy comedy anime TV series. It is a remake of Icchokusen’s manga series of the same title. Studio Pierrot+ animated the debut season of this show that came out on April 2, 2018. The series ran for a total of twelve episodes before concluding on June 18 of the same year.
Mahou Shoujo Ore Manga Compared To Anime
The author of the manga series began its serialization in 2012. However, he concluded the series only after two years in 2014. During these years, he released only two books. Pierrot+ still went to make the anime series using these two volumes. They exhausted the source material by the end of the tenth episode. As a result, the production studio had to add some original content to its plotline.
They even introduced some new characters to it. But unfortunately, now Pierrot+ has nothing left to create Magical Girl Ore Season 2. So, if they ever decide to move forward with the series, they have to go for original content again.
Magical Girl Ore Season 2: Renewal Status
Mahou Shoujo Ore is certainly not for the people who are new to anime. It has some references that are hard to understand by any beginner. Still, the show got a good response from the viewers. However, it received a mixed response from the critics. Currently, it holds a score of 6.63 on MyAnimeList. On the same platform, the show has more than 74K members who prove that it is pretty popular as well.
However, the only troubling fact is that the manga series ended seven years back, and the production studio has already used all the source material. Now, the anime has nothing to promote, and there is no content for Magical Girl Ore Season 2 as well. Therefore, now the possibility of this show getting a second season is very less. However, it will be a different case if the makers decide to renew the show with an original storyline for the sequel.

As previously mentioned, it is likely that this fantasy drama won’t return for another run. The producers won’t invest in this show again, especially with an original plot. Also, the performance of its first season was also average. So, they will likely not take a chance again. But hardcore fans can still hope for a miracle. If the anime gets a green flag, Magical Girl Ore Season 2 might release sometime in 2024.
