Yuukoku no Moriarty: Is There Enough Source Material?
The serialization of this crime mystery manga began on August 4, 2016. Since then, Ryōsuke Takeuchi and Hikaru Miyoshi have published a total of 15 volumes. The anime started adapting the manga series from the second episode. The first one was a flash-forward of Sherlock and Professor James Moriarty’s story that ended with a cliffhanger to set up the atmosphere of the series. After the premiere episode, the anime began world-building. Episodes 2-9 were quite detailed as they adapted only one chapter. However, from Episode 10 onwards, the anime began to skip story arcs.
As a result, throughout the 24 episodes, it adopted a total of 8 volumes and found its stopping point at Chapter 56. Now, Production IG needs one more volume to create another split-cour installment. The good thing is that the manga is still on the run, and soon it will provide enough content for the studio to make Moriarty The Patriot Season 2.
