Ever since the first season of SSSS.Dynazenon came to an end in June 2021, its renewal has become a topic of debate. Dynazenon was termed as one of the best shows of 2021. With its stylized storytelling and fresh take on the world of isekai, the series caught the most attention last year. While the original Gridman series made it to the screens in the early 90s, the 2021 reboot managed to overshine the first series. So, what is the update on the renewal of SSSS.Dynazenon Season 2? The parent series, Gridman first came out in 1993 as one of the pioneers of the isekai genre. In 2018, Studio Trigger brought the story to the forefront once again. With SSSS.Gridman reboot, the younger audience was introduced to a whole new world. Later on, the sequel by the name of Dynazenon was released in April 2021. With an expectedly successful run, the series turned out to be the biggest earners of the previous year.
In many charts, the series was termed the best anime of 2021. SSSS.Dynazenon has scored 7 out of 10. Moreover, more than twenty-seven thousand users have rated the shows above 7.5 stars on MyAnimeList. With as many positive reviews, the return of the series is anticipated, only the timeline remains under question.
SSSS.Dynazenon Season 2: Renewal Status!
The renewal of SSSS.Dynazenon Season 2 is in the most confusing state at the moment. Back in December 2021, the makers of the original series came out with the announcement of a new collaborative project by the name of GRIDMAN x DYNAZENON. The reveal came from the finale episode of Dynazenon that aired on June 18, 2021. However, the makers did not confirm if the project was, in fact, the sequel to the series.
Thus, to state it in simpler words, SSSS.Dynazenon Season 2 has not officially been confirmed. However, Studio Tsuburaya Productions is currently working on a sideways project which may serve as a second installment to the pilot. The confirmation might only come when this project nears release.
Production Updates!
At the time of writing, the production work of SSSS.Dynazenon Season 2 has not begun. However, as per the latest announcement, it can be said that GRIDMAN x DYNAZENON is already under production. While Studio Tsuburaya Productions has not clarified the production updates on the project as of yet, it is safe to say that the new series is in the budding stages. The pilot has only halted airing in Japan and the west. Thus, the studio might take a short break before resuming the animation work once again.
SSSS.Dynazenon Season 2: Plot Details!
The first season of SSSS.Dynazenon ended on a decisive note. Neither did the story end on a cliffhanger nor did Season 1 leave any plotlines for an upcoming season. The Studio Trigger project was self-contained in itself. The story followed the life of a young adult named Akane, who was weary of her dull life. Thus, she began to invest her time in creating a virtual world of her own liking. What followed was the classic isekai which translated into a life-or-death mission. Towards the end of the season, Akane faced her final redemption.

The protagonist understood that her actions had dire consequences. And so, Akane stopped the festering of her isekai world and accepted her reality in the real world. In the end, she also had a chance to redeem her character by facing the consequences of the murders and destructions that she had caused. The final scenes of the season indicated that GRIDMAN x DYNAZENON would be focusing more on the arcs related to the lives of the Hyper Agents.
Skipping aside Akane and her personal conflicts, the sequel series will be looking into the individual storyline that continues to follow Akane’s actions. Moreover, as the title has already suggested, Dynazenon is collaborating with the Gridman universe and its characters in the sequel series.
SSSS.Dynazenon Season 2: Release Date
As of now, there has not been any confirmation on where GRIDMAN x DYNAZENON stands in terms of the chronology. If the project is indeed the second part of the franchise, then there is a high chance that it may be ready with a release earlier than expected. However, if SSSS.Dynazenon Season 2 is a separate project lined up for some other time, then the sequel will come long after the collaboration project.
