The Zombieland Saga has been one of the most popular reincarnation stories in Japan. Very recently, the second season of the anime franchise came to a halt. Since then, fans have been demanding the renewal of the third season. However, before the third season could make it to the floors, the makers announced another interesting project. Unlike many franchises, Zombieland Saga began as an original anime series in 2018. Cygames, MAPPA, and Avex pictures collaboratively brought the franchise to life. Later that year, Cygames launched the manga counterpart of the same story. Zombie Land Saga Revenge was the second season of the anime that concluded in June 2021. Now, the film project is waiting to see the light of the day.

The online live concert by the creators of the Zombieland anime series was a major success. The event not only commemorated the success of the second season, but it also revealed some new projects to the viewers. By the end of the event, the makers displayed a brand new commercial that launched the Zombie Land Saga Anime Film. The promo of the event was titled ‘A Zombie-less Fight: Saga Revenge Edition.’
In the video, cast members Hakuryuu and Kunio Murai are comically arguing over the plot of the last season. Moreover, in the end, they announce the new movie project. So far, the trailer has received more than a hundred thousand views on YouTube. The appearance of the two prime characters in the video has created quite a buzz over the internet.
Zombieland Saga Anime Film: Production Status
As of now, there has been no confirmation on the production work of the Zombieland Saga Anime Film. However, judging by the launch commercial of the movie, it can be said with assurance that the animation and production team is already on board. Studios and production companies are usually booked years in advance. Thus, pitching them only for a single commercial shoot is highly unlikely. Thus, it can be said that the movie is already under production.
The animation may be in the early stages. Since the cast members were a part of the commercial, the voice dubbing may have begun in the studio. We will be sure to update this section accordingly.
Zombie Land Saga Anime Film: Release Date
For the time being, the makers have not announced anything solid in regards to the release of the film. The production details of the movie are also not in the public domain.
