It is the remake of Shu and Yoshinori Shizunuma’s light novel series of the same name. Silver Link animation studio animated the first season of the series. The anime made its debut in Summer 2020 on July 4. Whereas, it ran for a total of thirteen episodes before ending on September 26, 2020.

The production studio teased the second season of the anime in February this year. After a few days, they officially announced it on March 6, 2021. Aniplex USA made this news official by posting a tweet, and then Crunchyroll followed their lead and posted this news on their Twitter handle as well. Well, this news wasn’t shocking at all for the fans as they were anticipating it already. The inaugural installment performed really well and managed to get a lot of fans.
In fact, it is even ranked at #341 in popularity on MyAnimeList and has more than 448K members in its MAL group. As a result, it was kind of obvious for the series to get an early renewal. The production of The Misfit Of Demon King Academy Season 2 already began in March this year, right after its announcement. It is still ongoing and will likely take some more time before it reaches its final stage.

When the LN series began to serialize, a lot of critics claimed that the series heavily relies on the typical analogies of magical high school harem series. In the anime’s first season, the viewers saw Anos stopping the war between the humans and the demons from the beginning. Sadly, a new royal teacher named Eldemade Dityjon is making the life of Anos quite troublesome. Later, Anos is declared as the Tyranny’s Demon King by Eldemade. Eldemade even showed evidence that was signed by several demons that includes the Seven Elder Demon Emperors. Now, The Misfit of The Demon Academy Season 2 will not feature the Great Spirit arc.
It explained how Greek Gods took benefit of Kanon’s plan to create an artificial demon 2,000 years ago. Meanwhile, Nousgalia, who is an elder god, will try to awake the God of Destruction, Aberneyu. Soon after, the identity of the fake Demon King came out. As a result, Anos investigated even further in this case. Now, he will travel 2,000 years back in time in order to discover the birth of the Great Spirit and undo everything done by Nousgalia.

When the makers renewed the anime for its second season earlier this year, they didn’t reveal anything about its release window. The production of this show will take a lot of time, so it likely won’t premiere this year. Therefore, the best time period for The Misfit Of Demon King Academy Season 2 to come out will be Spring or Summer 2022.
