Aikatsu Planet is a Japanese music slice-of-life live-action anime hybrid series. It is an adaptation of collectible swing card games. BN Pictures produced the inaugural installment of this show. Its premiere episode came out on January 10, 2021. Moreover, it had a great run of 24 episodes before concluding on June 20, 2021. Since then, its fans have been waiting for the announcement of its sequel.

The first season of the hybrid series didn’t receive a really good response from the viewers and the critics. This show started off pretty well and managed to catch the attention. However, then it went downhill. The thing that could be a lot better about this show was its characters. They aren’t interesting or unique in any way. The worst part is that they didn’t go through any kind of development.
However, the art and the animation of Aikatsu Planet were really good. It has improved a lot in the last few years. But most of the viewers overlooked it because of the sloppy storyline. Overall, the show was quite average but is good enough to kill the boredom.
Aikatsu Planet Season 2: Release Date
BN Pictures is yet to wave a green signal to the sequel of this hybrid show. It might face some trouble due to low ratings and popularity, but that can change any day. So, if they decide to get the green light to another run of this hybrid show, then the fans can expect Aikatsu Planet Season 2 to release sometime in 2023.
