2022 already has some amazing shows lined up for a release. But one show that fans are desperately looking forward to is the Blue Lock Anime. The popular sports story continues to amaze fans each week with a new manga chapter. However, fans have been demanding an anime adaptation for almost four years now. With the project already underworks, new developments are coming by. And the latest of them all is the new trailer by Eight Bit. So, here is everything you need to know about the trailer.

Blue Lock is an original soccer story by Muneyuki Kaneshiro. The popular manga first came out in the year 2018. Since then, seventeen volumes have been published by Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine. The anime adaptation by Studio Eight Bit was announced in August 2021. Since then, the wait has become quite a tough job. So, what are the release updates for Blue Lock?

Blue Lock Anime: New Trailer Gives Haikyuu Vibes

The trailer was first released on the official website of Blue Lock Anime. Within hours of the release, the trailer exploded over the internet, and everyone began talking about it. The trailer begins with the crying face of Isagi, who is upset about their disastrous defeat at the FIFA World Cup. After a flash of the Blue Lock title, he receives a letter from the titular facility. Thus, buses full of players are seen reaching the enclosed building of Blue Lock. And so, the trailer closes with another flash of the title. So far, the response to the trailer has been overwhelming.

Fans are comparing the anime to the popular basketball story of Haikyuu. Many comments said that the animation, music, and art style were similar to that of Haikyuu. So, Blue Lock tells the story of the Japanese national team after it faces an embarrassing loss at the FIFA World Cup. Thus, expert coach and enigma Ego Jinpachi is brought in to form the most potent team for the next world cup. This is the formation of the Blue Lock facility. The anime tells the story of Yoichi Isagi, who has joined this program to get his team to the top.

Cast & Crew Updates!

As of the last update, only four cast members have been announced on the list. On the contrary, there are quite a lot of characters in the anime. The cast members include Kazuki Ura as Yoichi Isagi. Tasuku Kaito is playing the character of Meguru Bachira. Yūki Ono is playing the role of Rensuke Kunigami. Lastly, Soma Saito will be seen as Hyoma Chigiri. Along with this, Tetsuaki Watanabe will be directing the series.

Joining him is Shunsuke Ishikawa as the assistant director. Haikyuu fame Taku Kishimoto is looking after the writing and script supervision. Moreover, Masaru Shindo will be the chief animation director of the anime. Lastly, Jun Murayama will be looking after the music composition.

As of the last update, there has not been any news of the proper release date of Blue Lock Anime. However, the makers have already clarified that Blue Lock will be released in 2022. The Winter Slate is already running, and there has been no update about the date as of yet. Thus, it can be assumed that the makers are eyeing the Fall 2022 slate for a release.
