The first few episodes of the series were not that impressive. They featured a lot of absurd genital jokes and content. However, if someone likes to watch this kind of humor, they might enjoy the first few episodes as well. After that, the anime began to get a grip on its storyline. The show is very relatable, and at the same time, it keeps a mysterious environment for the viewers. Hence, it made them curious to know the actual reason behind the disease. Except for Ramune and Kuro, none of the characters developed even a little. Even the character development of the protagonist also lacked depth.
Dr Ramune addressed some serious issues and gave a lot of life lessons throughout its episodes. It could be painful to watch for a lot of viewers as it features the tragic deaths of children. Overall, it is fun anime that’s a little sloppy in the beginning but quickly engages the viewers after a few episodes.

The first season of the anime managed to get a good response from the viewers. The critics also gave it a positive response. It also holds a good score of 7.16 on MyAnimeList. The tale of Ramune stunned the fans in the ending moments. It did end on a satisfying note, but the fans are still crying out for more. Despite all the positive responses, it seems like there is bad news for the fans. The manga series of the same title recently ended on February 22, 2021, after publishing its fifth and last volume. Platinum Vision Studio already exhausted most of the content for Season 1’s adaptation. Thus, they barely have enough source material for Dr Ramune Season 2 now. So, it seems like the chances for the sequel to get a renewal is very low.

It has only been a month since the completion of the anime’s first season. So, the fans have to wait for a little longer to hear any official update regarding its sequel.
