Gaina animation studio animated both the installments of this series. The anime made its first appearance on April 9, 2018. Its second season came out after a gap of a few months, on January 9, 2018. It ran for a total of twelve episodes before ending on April 15 of the same year.
Piano no Mori Manga Compared To The Anime
Makoto Isshiki, the author of the manga series, worked on it for a total of seventeen years. Kodansha began the serialization of Piano no Mori way back in 1998. It ran till November 5, 2015, and ended after releasing a total of 26 volumes. The Gaina studio picked up the source material for the anime adaptation. However, they condensed its story way too much. The pacing of both the installments was very fast.
They adopted the content till the sixth book of the manga and then skipped all the chapters in the middle. But the second installment of the anime did adapt to the original ending of the manga series. As a result, now they have nothing left to continue the story in Forest of Piano Season 3. The studio can still use all the skipped volumes, but now it will be challenging because they already featured the story’s ending.

Both the previous installments of the anime were pretty decent and got a positive response from everyone. The fans, as well as the critics, praised the show for its content alike.
