Grimms Notes The Animation is a Japanese action-adventure anime series. It is the remake of an online RPG video game of the same name developed by Genki. Brain’s Base animation studio animated the first season of the series. The viewers saw its debut episode on January 11, 2019. After running for twelve episodes, the anime ended on March 29, 2019.

The storyline of the anime’s debut season has great potential, but unfortunately, it failed to reach it. In this case, the production studio even failed to explain how things work in this fantasy world. Hence, this was a major drawback most of the time. Besides, the viewers didn’t understand what is actually happening. The picture becomes a little clear by the third episode of the series. After that, fans were expecting to see the characters’ development. However, it also didn’t happen.
On top of that, the dialogue delivery of the show’s characters was kind of irritating. The animation and visuals of Grimms Notes The Animation was also average. Both the story and the character failed to leave their mark on the viewers. Overall, the series has the potential to become a masterpiece, but it failed miserably to prove it.

As we stated above, Grimms Notes’ inaugural installment got a mixed response. However, most of the reviews from the experts were on the negative side. Currently, the series has a score of 5.97 on MyAnimeList, which sadly is pretty low compared to the other shows. It has more than 36K members in its MAL group, plus it also has the fan-following of the original game.
So, we’ll have to wait to see if the demand for the sequel increases. Once that happens, there will be possibilities of the production studio giving the green light to Grimms Notes The Animation Season 2. However, its poor critical reception might turn out to be troublesome for the show’s future.

The release date of the sequel entirely depends on the time of its renewal. If Brain’s Base renews the show this very year, fans can expect Grimms Notes The Animation Season 2 to premiere by the end of 2022.
