Suka Suka, aka World End is a Japanese sci-fi anime series. It adapts its plot from a fantasy sci-fi light novel series of the same name by Akira Kareno. Satelight and C2C Studio picked up the LN series for an anime adaptation that premiered on April 11, 2017. It was a standard twelve episodes season that concluded on June 27, 2019.
Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu Ka Season 2: Renewal Status!
The fans really liked the animation done by Satelight and C2C studios in the debut season of the anime. It received a tremendous response from viewers. The critics also praised the show. However, despite all that, the production companies have not renewed the second installment. Well, since they haven’t canceled the sequel either, there might be hope for its return sometime in the future.
Do The Makers Have Enough Source Material?
Just like most anime series, this one also adapts its storyline from its source material. The World End LN series already concluded in April 2016. It had a total of five volumes. Then in the same year, the publishers released a sequel to this LN series titled “Sukamoka.” The sequel SukaMoka has a total of nine volumes, and it is still ongoing. The debut season of World End anime only covered the initial three volumes. Hence, the studio now has 11 volumes in spare to create Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu Ka Season 2. It is actually more than they need, and they can easily extend the universe of this anime beyond its second season with that much source material.

The return of the anime series depends on several factors. The most important ones among them are its ratings and viewership. The score of World End on MAL is 7.72, which is quite decent. Along with the ratings, the viewership of the debut season was also good. Now the only concerning thing is the long hiatus. Since there is no update on the anime, its popularity will decrease even more with time. But some anime series have had the chance to return even after seven or eight years. So, there are still chances for the fans to see Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu Ka Season 2. If it is on the cards, then the studios will most likely announce it this very year.
