Demon Slayer Season 2 is one of the most awaited sequels of the coming year. Both the pilot season and the feature film performed exceptionally well on every platform it landed upon. Now, the second season is also set to mark the year in its name. Recently, the official website of the anime announced new details about the release of the show. Moreover, it also revealed details about the Entertainment District Arc. So, when is the second season releasing? Here is all you need to know about it.

The sequel of Demon Slayer was announced right after the first season came to a halt in September 2019. Since then, fans have been desperately waiting to get newer updates about the show. The pilot season of Demon Slayer began with the Final Selection Arc in the story. After losing his family to a demon attack, Tanjiro decided to join the Demon Slayer Corps and avenge the death of this parents and siblings. The arc concluded with Tanjiro successful becoming a lower-ranking demon hunter. Later, the story progressed with missions that took Tanjiro and Nezuko to various districts of Japan. The first season ended with the remarkable entry of the Mugen Train Act, which set the stage for the upcoming film.

The Mugen Train brought the Demon Slayer Corps and the Blood Moon demons face to face. Now, the corps and Muzan Kibutsuji are closer than ever. The next act of the story is the Entertainment District Arc. Here, Tanjiro and his companions will begin their quest into the Yoshiwara district. Inosuke, Zenitsu, and Tengen will visit the allies in search of missing women from the local stores. Some of the most anticipated events of the story are going to be Tanjiro’s fight with the demon named Daki.

Moreover, fans will also see the Sound Hashira, Tengen, in action against Gyutaro. Demon Slayer Season 2 might conclude with Muzan’s special meeting with the Upper-Rank demons.

Will There Be a Third Season?

Taking into account the huge popularity and demand of the anime adaptation, the reception may not be a concern for the makers for the renewal. As for the source material, the manga has a published twenty-three volumes so far. Moreover, the first season and the movie adapted eight of these twenty-three. Hence, the remaining source material has enough plot for the third season.

In fact, it can also provide arcs for a fourth and a fifth season. Thus, it might not be a tough call for Studio Ufotable to renew more seasons after Demon Slayer Season 2. It is only a matter of time before the renewal announcement is made public.

For now, the makers of the anime have not announced the official release date of Demon Slayer Season 2. However, the official website of the anime confirms the release slot of the second season. So, the new update suggests that Demon Slayer Entertainment District Arc will release on Fuji TV in two quarters of Fall 2021. The episodes will air every Sunday at 11:15 PM JST. Moreover, the split-cour anime will take up half a year of streaming time from Fall to Winter.
